OTC derivatives are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. For many members of the public, these Transactions are not suitable. The high degree of "gearing" or "leverage" (i.e., the funds required at the outset, compared with the size of the trade you can place) is a particular feature of this type of Transaction.
